A Houston-based center where blind and visually impaired Muslims learn to read, understand, and hold the Qur'an independently — letter by letter, in Braille.
Every dotted line above is real Braille — it spells "Iqra," the very first word revealed of the Qur'an.
Noor Ul Quran by Touch – Blind Center is a registered 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization based in Houston, Texas, founded by Zabeehullah Faiz, a visionary leader who is himself blind. What began as a personal understanding of the gap in accessible Islamic education has grown into a full center dedicated to making the Qur'an and Islamic knowledge reachable through Braille — so that blindness is never a barrier to learning the Book of Allah.
We provide free Islamic and general education to the blind community, so every student can learn, understand, and connect with the Qur'an on their own terms.
Making Qur'anic education accessible through structured Braille learning, from the first letter onward.
Providing the visually impaired with the same quality of Islamic education as any sighted learner.
Promoting independence, confidence, and spiritual growth through hands-on, self-directed reading.
Serving every student and family with compassion, patience, and a true sense of belonging.
Our teachers are highly qualified, and many bring their own lived experience of blindness to every lesson — a depth of understanding that can't be taught from a textbook alone.
Foundational instruction in the Braille Qur'an script, built for total beginners.
Guided recitation paired with word-by-word meaning, so understanding grows alongside fluency.
Core Islamic studies tailored specifically for visually impaired learners of every age.
Classrooms and materials designed around accessibility first, not added as an afterthought.
The artwork throughout this page represents our students and classrooms. We've chosen illustration over stock photography to protect the privacy of the children and adults we serve. We'd love to replace these with real photos of your students once you have consent on file — just drop them into the sections above.
These slots are placeholders. Replace each one with your own photo (with consent on file) by swapping the <div class="img-placeholder"> block for an <img src="your-photo.jpg" alt="..."> tag — see the HTML comment above each slot.
Your support directly sustains and expands this service. Here's where it goes.
Braille Qur'ans, slates, styluses, and embossed learning resources.
Specialized teacher training and fair compensation for our instructors.
Accessible classroom space, transportation, and day-to-day operations.
Keeping every class free of charge for blind students and their families.
Every letter read through Braille, every verse understood, and every student empowered becomes a source of continuous reward — for you, long after the gift is given.
"Allah will raise those who believe among you, and those who have been given knowledge, in high ranks."Qur'an 58:11
Your contribution helps break barriers and brings the light of the Qur'an to those who experience the world differently. Choose whichever method works best for you.
